Facebook users would now have option to donate directly to three non-profit Ebola relief charities through a button that users will find at the top of their News Feeds in an effort to fight Ebola disease. These charities are International Medical Corps, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and Save the Children.

The social networking giant is also donating 100 satellite communication terminals to boost internet services and voice-calling access for aid workers to Ebola-hit areas of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Last month, Facebook Chief Mark Zuckerberg said, he and his wife would donate $25 million to the Centers for Disease Control Foundation to battle the disease. He wrote “We need to get Ebola under control in the near term so that it doesn’t spread further and become a long term global health crisis that we end up fighting for decade’s at large scale, like HIV or polio”.
It’s worth mentioning that so far the Ebola plague has resulted in nearly 5k deaths in West Africa. And until now, the American Red Cross has raised nearly $3.7 million for Ebola relief.
